Purpose

This module was developed to allow site maps to be generated, including friendly URLs to increase the ranking of your websites with major portals.

Description

This module allows you to select which types of content should be included in your site map, and schedule the site map to be created as often as you would like. This allows for every link within your site to be represented by friendly URLs, and even allows you to submit your sitemap directly to Google or others. In this way, you are able to submit ALL pages of your site to search portals to rank.

How To Use

This module requires multiple steps to set up...once completed it will run automatically. The first step will be to create syndicated feeds (within the XML Syndication module) for each of the content types that you would like to include in your site map.

The second step would be to add these feeds within your Site Map module, including how often you would like to have the site map scheduled.

If you are interested in submitting a custom Google site map...simply select Google site map, when created your site map. This will allow your site map to be customized for Google, giving you the ability to submit the entire site to Google. Once Google receives your file, it will send you back a confirmation number to ensure that you are the company which sent it to them. Take this confirmation and enter into the site map record (for Google), and as frequently as you would like....this information will be sent to google, automotically, to ensure your ranking is kept up.
