“The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see"
Winston Churchill
Oxcyon was forrmed in 2000, to develop a better way to web. In other words, modularize the development of any web project, with a better architecture, reducing cost, complexity and time to market. Centralpoint, our flagship technology was born allowing us to develop virtually any web project with a reduced number of developers. The goal initially was to streamline our delivery model so that we may compete against larger more expensive firms, providing out of the box, market ready solutions. Not only were we able to build a better business model, but quickly expanded our vision to provide these same tools to our clients.
Oxcyon liberates clients from technocrats, empowering ordinary folks to deploy and maintain complex web solutions. What used to be a mysterious science, requiring high priced developers and database engineers, can now be done by the same people who need the solutions. Oxcyon sees a similarity to what we are doing, to what was done in the automotive industry at the turn of the century. We too want to automate the assembly of these products, so that lower skill workers can produce products faster, with greater reliability...just as they did with the assembly line. In those days, automobiles were made by had, and were too expensive for most consumers. Along came Mr. Henry Ford who introduced a modular assembly line, allowing non skilled workers to develop complex automobiles for far less than the handcrafted model. Oxcyon does the same thing with web solutions, eliminating the need for costly developers and programmers, who are today's version of the craftsmen.
Centralpoint's modular assembly line architecture empowers you to build complex web solutions, in about the same time it took Mr. Ford to manufacture a car...one per minute. This first release of Centralpoint was for Oxcyon to show greater profit, but quickly clients learned of what it would do for their own mass development. Centralpoint quickly evolved from a tool Oxcyon used to deliver solutions, to a platform technology that empowered anyone to do the same. A reason why our partner and reseller base is growing rapidly. No longer do Advertising Agencies, and Value Added Resellers need to to hire web developers.
Centralpoint's was an ambitious endeavor, but today has over 250 clients, and thousands of end users to prove it works. Oxcyon takes on major integrators, and in house web developers, proving that man cannot produce as quickly and efficiently as machine. Blacksmiths hated Henry Ford. He literally helped to put them all out of business. Centralpoint is equally unwelcome by developers who place a higher value on job security than the bottom line of their employers. Fortunately, today all employees are forced to watch the bottom line, and the basis of incentive is changing...look out for the company, and it will look out for you. The lagging economy has caused us to enjoy more hypergrowth now than ever.
Centralpoint's initial release in 2001, similar to the Model T, was a simple portal with integrated CMS tools. Like Mr. Ford, we quickly added options and new models for more sophisticated clients. Oxcyon added options beyond the base model to include things like taxonomy, rights management, data warehousing, single sign on, and email broadcasting. Today, Oxcyon boasts over 250 options for Centralpoint, increasing the breadth of complex web projects we can deliver. Today, Ford Motor Co. still leads the way in automation and robotics, and notably the only US car manufacturer NOT in need of a bail out from the government.
Oxcyon has begun its 10th year in business. Centralpoint has enjoyed over 460 updates, giving it a lead against any other vendor who tries to copy our model; with a lot of learning curves ahead. Centralpoint has hundreds of clients, and thousands of end users, empowering them with a turnkey platform easy enough for anyone to use. Centralpoint consolidates organizations' need for Content, Document, Forms Management, Data Warehousing, Email Broadcasting and Taxonomy. Centralpoint's weekly remote updates guarantees that our clients stay in stride with changes in their industries. We are grateful for the lessons from history, and specifically Mr. Henry Ford.
